Psilocybin Services in Oregon – A One-Year Update

Join us for an event marking the first anniversary of psilocybin services in Oregon under Measure 109, the groundbreaking law that legalized the regulated use of psilocybin for therapeutic purposes.

Ryan Reid of Bendable Therapy will offer an insider’s look at the past year’s impacts, challenges, and successes while also exploring what the future holds for psilocybin-assisted therapy in Oregon. Ryan will be joined by other psilocybin service representatives and facilitators from Central Oregon, providing a comprehensive overview of the therapeutic use of psilocybin.

This is a unique opportunity for community members, mental health advocates, and local journalists to hear firsthand from the owner of one of Oregon’s pioneering psilocybin service centers. Ryan will share insights into how psilocybin therapy is transforming mental health treatment, addressing conditions such as PTSD, depression, and anxiety, and fostering personal growth and well-being.

Ryan will discuss how Central Oregon became home to the first veteran-specific psilocybin cohort on U.S. soil, thanks to a collaboration with the Heroic Hearts Project, a nonprofit organization that connects military veterans with psychedelic-assisted therapies. With more than four times as many post-9/11 veterans dying by suicide than in combat, psychedelic therapy has emerged as a promising treatment option. Thanks to Measure 109, veterans can now seek psilocybin therapy in Oregon, eliminating the need to travel abroad for treatment.

Additionally, a representative from Bend’s emergency services will address safety concerns raised by opponents of Measure 109, providing an update on emergency calls and safety outcomes since psilocybin service centers opened.
